When you first start to play bingo you will likely hear many terms that are unfamiliar to you. There is a great deal of vocabulary which is specifically used when people play bingo, and it is important to know it when you start out so that you are aware of what everyone is talking about!

- Blackout: This is a different variation on how to play bingo. All of the numbers on the entire card must be filled in to win a “blackout” bingo game. It can also be called a “coverall”.
- Bingo Patterns: This refers to the shape of the filled in squares on your card that you need to have to win when you play bingo, such as a straight line, a diagonal, etc.
- Free Space: This is the square in the centre of your bingo card. It always automatically counts as a marked square.
- Progressive Jackpot: This is the type of jackpot which gets bigger with every game until someone wins it. They are known to go up to several thousand pounds before they are won.
- Split Pot: This means that the winner will split the money they win with the website.
